Gatorade powder shelf life?

Anyone have experience with shelf life on Gatorade Powder? The original can looks vacuum sealed but the one I bought today shows it good for only about a year?

I saw this, but not very descriptive: "Advantages of Gatorade Powder
long shelf life
costs less
easy to carry, light-weight
can be compressed in airplane luggage
can be stored at high temperatures

Gatorade powder has a long shelf life, so you can get the price advantage that comes with buying large quantities of Gatorade in bulk without the worry that it will lose its potency. Powdered Gatorade is less expensive than bottled Gatorade, as well. A 2 oz package of the powdered drink mix that yields 32 oz of Gatorade sells for only $.69 at Cox Hardware, while 32 oz of regular Gatorade at the 20 oz - 24 pack price would cost $1.27 (at Cox Hardware). Gatorade powder is significantly lighter than pre-mixed Gatorade, and is durably packaged to endure compression. Powdered Gatorade can also be stored at higher temperatures than liquid Gatorade, according to the Gatorade website. It is not degraded by high temperatures."

A good followup question would be where to get the dry form in bulk at a discount?

I paid $8.87 for a canister (76.5 ounces of powder) today at Sams Club that makes 9 gallons.

I've had an open can of the stuff for about 4 years now. I do live in a fairly dry climate, 2500ft. I bought the powder because I use it quite a bit while working out, treadmill. I think a sealed can will last a long, long time.
